WESTBURY Alley Film Club has announced its run of films for the coming months, kicking off this week with acclaimed Ken Loach drama ‘I, Daniel Blake’.
The club shows films at 8pm on the third Wednesday of each month at The Horse and Groom on Edward Street.
The next four events will be:
Wednesday 18th January: I, Daniel Blake – A middle aged carpenter who requires state welfare after injuring himself, is joined by a single mother in a similar scenario in this Ken Loach directed drama.
Wednesday 15th February: Swiss Army Man – A hopeless man stranded on a deserted island befriends a dead body and together they go on a surreal journey to get home. Starring Daniel Radcliffe and Paul Dano.
Wednesday 15th March: The Light Between Oceans – A lighthouse keeper and his wife living off the coast of Western Australia raise a baby they rescue from a drifting rowing boat. Stars Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender.
Wednesday 19th April: A United Kingdom – In the 1940s Prince Seretse Khama of Botswana shocks the world when he marries a white woman from London. Starring David Oyelowo and Rosamund Pike.
