Customers and colleagues at Morrisons Westbury raised £445.99 for Sue Ryder after over 100 guests attended the store’s first-ever Communi-Tea Party.
The Alice in Wonderland-themed tea party, held in the store’s foyer on 25th April, saw guests enjoy a range of delicious cakes in exchange for donations to the health and social care charity, which is Morrisons’ national charity partner.
Hot drinks were also served, including Yorkshire Tea kindly donated by Taylors of Harrogate, along with activities including a raffle and a treasure hunt.
The store’s community champion, Lisa Litterick said, “We are over the moon with the success of our first Communi-Tea Party and we’d like to thank customers and staff who came along and donated to Sue Ryder, especially the Town Mayor for launching the event by coming along and having the first cup of tea with us.
“The support we have received has been incredible and I know I am very touched with this amazing result, as I am sure all the staff are.”
Money raised through the Morrisons Raise a Smile partnership with Sue Ryder is funding new community healthcare services, family support teams and an online community with online support, providing the best possible care to people at the end of their lives and support for their families.
