Hundreds of people came together for a day of food, music and entertainment at the first Dilton Festival on Saturday 11th July.
The free festival at Dilton Marsh Playing Field featured performances from local acts across two stages, a bar, food vendors, charity stalls, circus workshops, inflatables and games.
“We are absolutely amazed by the turnout,” said Suzanne McGee from the Dilton Festival committee. “Thank you to everybody! There have been so many people who have helped us.”
The event was supported by local groups, with young leaders from Gaia Gymnastics organising the fun runs, Dilton Marsh Social Club running the bar, and local organisations and charities hosting a variety of stalls, including a human fruit machine.
Committee member Janna Baker said, “We weren’t expecting so many people; it is brilliant. We were really lucky to get some local support; we have support from Dilton Marsh businesses and the parish council as well. It’s a community thing and we wanted to keep it as free as possible.
“It’s just been really great. We couldn’t have wanted for better weather.”
Organisers hope to make the festival an annual event.
