VINTAGE vehicles, machines, engines and exhibits were the order of the day in Bratton, when the 23rd annual Transport Gathering took place last weekend.
Westbury Transport and Vintage Gathering took place in Bratton on the 22nd and 23rd April, and organiser Keith Miller has said he was pleased with the turn out, with more exhibitors than ever before.
“The weekend went superbly well,” said Keith. “We had excellent weather and there were more exhibitors than ever before and lots of new faces. We were also pleased to see Bratton Village Crier, Ray Davis, with his 139 Austin Ruby come along.
“I think one of our keys to success is being friendly and low-key. We have a group of core exhibitors who contribute every year and newcomers are always welcomed. It’s our own field so we’re very flexible and it’s a completely informal event.
“Every year we develop and make improvements to the event, it’s important that it doesn’t become static – we’re very organic!
“A lot of hard work goes into organising the event so it is very satisfying when it turns out so well. In all aspects, the whole weekend went very, very well.”
The weekend saw a number of enthusiasts show off a wide range of machines ranging from classic cars, lorries and motorbikes, to stationary engines to military vehicles.
Keith added, “I would say we had over 1,000 people visit us over the two days, which is fantastic. All in all, it was a very good weekend. We’ll definitely be back next year – same time, same place!”
