THE White Horse Community Choir celebrated their fifth anniversary this April with a day of games, nibbles and a chocolate cake!
Ian McManus, Minister at West End Baptist Church said, “Lots of fun was had by everyone and we really would like to have some more to join our ranks. We have lots of opportunities for folk to sing the middle parts (altos especially!) The whole point of the choir was to bring fun to the community through singing. We cannot think of a better way than singing and chocolate cake!
“All ages are welcome to join. You don’t have to read music, but it helps and you don’t have to be crazy, but it helps! There is no audition necessary, just come along and give us a try. You don’t even have to pay for your first session. We sing all sorts of music; Disney favourites, show tunes, pop songs from today and yesteryear. The choir loves variety and that reflects in our song choices.
“If you want to see what we get up to, we’re holding one of our Musical Evenings on Saturday 19th May at 7.30pm at West End Baptist Church. We will do some of our older familiar stuff, along with a few new ones we’ve been learning this term. We’ve been working really hard to get them ready. Admission is £4 and children are £2. Pay on the door. All proceeds to Crosspoint and Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
“This year we hope to set up our own website. Keep your eyes peeled for more details. For now though, you can catch up with us on Facebook or come along to one of our rehearsals.
“We meet on Mondays 7.45pm – 9.15pm term time, at West End Baptist Church, Westbury. Contact Ian on 07818 852142 or rev.ian. mcmanus@gmail.com
