WILTSHIRE Online provides one-to-one support to help people get online and become confident with the internet. They are looking to recruit volunteers to help keep the service going.
As a volunteer digital champion, you will be helping members of the local community to get online and carry out basic tasks with their PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone. Full training is providing and travel expenses are paid for.
Some of the common areas of help include helping someone set up and use an e-mail account, explaining how to use social media safely and providing help with surfing the web and setting up favourites.
Celia Young from Bratton said, “Volunteer digital champion, William, has opened the door to the world of computing for me. With William it is a comfortable experience and not a chore. I want to learn and with William it is not overwhelming. It’s done in my own time and when it is convenient to us both.”
