Residents are being asked to share their views on the future of Westbury Parish Hall, as volunteers take the next steps to secure the historic building’s future as a community hub.
Westbury Parish Hall, a Victorian building dating from 1873, is a valuable community space close to the Grade I-listed All Saints’ Church. The hall has long served the town, hosting Brownies, Guides, St John Ambulance cadets, Rainbow pre-school, Friday Fun Youth Club, church social events and private hires.
Earlier this year, campaigners warned the hall was at risk of closure unless a solution was found to secure its future. Since then, a new Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) is looking take on a long-term lease from All Saints’ Church and lead plans to transform the building into the White Horse Community Hub.

The CIO is now asking residents to fill out a survey to provide input on how the hub should be used. The responses will feed directly into redevelopment plans.
Lead volunteer Joanne Heafield said, “This summer there have been approximately 200 volunteer hours provided to carry out basic repairs, decorating, gardening, and an open day event to start this journey. Hopefully you will notice the difference this has made when you are in the vicinity or attending an event in the hall.

“It is very important that the Westbury community provides feedback to the CIO on what they would like to see the new White Horse Community Hub used for. This is your opportunity to provide meaningful and constructive feedback to shape the hub of the future.”
The hall will be open to the public on Saturday 25th October from 1pm to 4pm. Volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and collect donations towards ongoing renovation work. Visitors can also explore the hall, enjoy free refreshments and take part in children’s autumn craft activities.
