WESTBURY Fire Station is on the lookout for local people to apply to become on-call firefighters.
This is only available to people who live or work within five minutes of the Westbury Fire Station.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue say, “On-call firefighters are normal people, going about their normal days, but occasionally being called to perform extraordinary tasks. Without these individuals, the community of Westbury and surrounding areas may have to wait for fire engines to respond from outside the area.
“Could you offer some of your time to be ‘on-call’ and respond to emergencies? Do you have a desire to give back to the community while getting paid for your commitment? Do you want to learn new and lifesaving skills?
