WeSTBURY and District French Twinning Association has been approached by the members of their twin town of Château du Loir, to try and find host families for some first-time visitors who wish to come to Westbury with the bi-annual exchange in April this year.
Jean Dew of the twinning association says, “There is a family wishing to come with two children, one 3 years and one 7 years old, who would like to stay with a family who have children or if that is not possible, with anyone who would be able to accommodate them. There is also another lady who has been a member of the Twinning in France for a long time and has been to England many times, but this year she would like to bring two teenage girls who have slight learning difficulties, whom she mentors. So we are looking for a host for the three of them. I hope someone will be interested in hosting as it would be a shame to have to tell these people that they cannot come.
“The members of the Twinning in France are growing in numbers and their new members are younger, but our group consists of mainly older people and we find it difficult to recruit new people.
“The group will arrive in Westbury between 3pm and 4pm on Thursday the 11th of April and leave very early on Monday the 15th of April.
“If you are interested, we will be happy to send more information about the visit, or to meet with you personally. As a group we try to meet monthly for various activities, usually based around fun and food. Our next function is a “Not a Burn’s Night” and you will be welcome to join us, just phone Jean on 01373 864935 or mail to jeandew @icloud.com
