A Westbury town councillor has been organising live music performances for older people in the town.
Radek Evans helped organise free lunchtime concerns for residents at Chantry Court as part of the Westbury Festival in 2025 and 2026, and wanted to build on this by providing more regular opportunities for people to enjoy live music.
He has started arranging performances for care homes and retirement communities, bringing live entertainment to residents in their own surroundings.
“Since becoming a town councillor I wanted to do something for the people of Westbury and the young at heart, because there are not many music events,” he said.
“The music events as part of Westbury Festival went down so well I wanted to make them a more regular thing.”
He has also taken residents to the pantomime in Warminster and plans to do so again this year.
Singer Richard Stark, who performed at Westbury Festival and was popular with audiences, is returning to the area to perform for residents at Westbury Court and Westbury Care Home this month.
Radek has also arranged two public Christmas concerts featuring the singer.
The first will take place at Bratton Church Institute on Friday 27th November at 2pm, with entry by donation on the day or tickets available in advance through WeGotTickets.
Richard will then perform at Chantry Court, Chantry Lane, on Saturday 28th November at 6.30pm. Tickets cost £8 and are available from Chantry Court.
