THE YAW100K Cycle Sportive – a 100km cycle ride, raising money for Youth Action Wiltshire – is back this month for its fifth running.
It will be held on Sunday 18th August starting from Melksham Town Football Club and take riders on a scenic route across Salisbury Plain and through the Avon Valley.
“The event, which is backed by British Cycling, will give those who have discovered cycling in the past couple of years an opportunity to complete a ‘metric century’ (100km or 62 miles) and also provide more experienced cyclists with a worthy challenge,” explained one of the organisers, Darren from Stampede Sports.
“The route will take participants on a scenic course along the roads across Salisbury Plain and through the beautiful Avon Valley.
“Just over halfway is a feed station located in the village of Enford where riders have the opportunity to refuel. The route continues along the edge of the Marlborough Downs before returning to Melksham.
“All finishers will receive a medal and a High-5 goody pack, with all profits from the event going to young person’s charity, Youth Action Wiltshire.”
