FOLLOWING the success of the first event last year, Wiltshire Home Guard will once again be hosting, Bratton at War, Step Back in Time, on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th September.
Organisers are hoping the event will be bigger and better than last year. Maria Ogbourne, from the Wiltshire Guard said, “We have so much going on this year, it really is a weekend for all the family. There is something for everyone, so we hope to see lots of people there not only having fun, but learning interesting things as well.”
The two-day event will feature various exhibitions and displays. There will be living history exhibitions, archery, military police, Melksham Rock & Roll Club, walking re-enactors, WW1 recruitment station, entertainment from Dickie Lines, Blitz Street, a medical unit, vintage vehicles and much more.
On the Sunday, the Royal British Legion Jump Team will be performing (weather permitting) with a surprise twist that’s not to be missed. There will also be trade stands and food stalls.
The address for the event is: B3098, Westbury Road, Bratton, BA13 4TT and on both days will start at 10.30am and finish at 4.40pm. Tickets are adult £5; adult in period costume £4; senior citizen £4; child £3. If you purchase your ticket before 31st August, you will receive a free archery session worth £3.
