THE White Horse Day Centre is urgently looking for a cook and volunteers who could spare a few hours on a Thursday.
The centre is looking for people who would like to help the charity by volunteering a few hours of their time each week.
Christine Mitchell, secretary for the day centre said, “If you have a few hours to spare on a Thursday, please contact Sue on 01373 822547 or via email at whitehorsedaycentre@gmail.com as we will be very pleased to hear from you. We are a very friendly group and lunch is provided.”
The day centre has been running on Thursdays (as well as its usual Tuesdays) at Grassacres Hall, Westbury since June this year and their aim is to help combat social isolation and provide a safe and friendly place for elderly people to meet up, have lunch and take part in gentle exercise, activities and day trips.
Although they have a very healthy membership, they do have some spaces left for anyone wishing to join.
They are a charity so they rely on grants and donations and its own fundraising to keep running. With this aim in mind, The Welfare of the Elderly and The White Horse Day Centre are holding a joint fundraising sale on Wednesday 19th August, 11.30am to 2.30pm at Grassacres Hall, tables are £5 and all monies raised will be split between the two charities.
If you would like a table, please contact Sue on the telephone number or email address above.
