A decision on the controversial Thoulstone Wind Turbine is expected by the end of April.
The application for the 87 metre high turbine with 53m diameter blades was made in October but met with strong local opposition.
Chapmanslade Parish Council chairman Phil Jefferson said, “We now understand that a decision on this controversial application can be expected by the end of April.
“The developers have been given an extension until the end of February to respond to some of the concerns raised in the period of consultation, and we believe we will be given the opportunity to see their response, and hopefully comment on it, before a final decision is taken.
Tim Page, a spokesman for Stop Thoulstone Farm Wind Turbine, a local action group set up to oppose the scheme said at the time: “We are poised to object in the strongest possible terms to this ill-considered and inappropriate planning application.
“It is in an historic and unspoilt piece of Wiltshire countryside, backdropped by Cley Hill, Longleat and the surrounding area of outstanding natural beauty. At 87m high, such a structure is the height of a 28-storey building, and totally out of place in that countryside.
