Boiling Kettle Theatre Company brings a brand new piece of theatre to The Tin Church at Brokerswood on Saturday 12th November.
Set in 2011, in the run-up to the London Olympics, the play is a comedy concerning the thoughts, views and misadventures of Zac, a retired British army NCO, whose security firm is guarding an ancient skeleton on a sensitive archaeological site near Stonehenge, the object of a very English punch-up between Archaeologists, property developers, Pagans and hippies. Should be no problem for a man who helped to sort out Northern Ireland and The Balkans – if only they’d do things the Army way…
Fine Times Recorder said, “In a terrific, multi-faceted, many-voiced performance, the Bridgwater-based actor and storyteller Eltjo De Vries embodies the former NCO who is haunted by events in Bosnia, but also brings to life the neurotic chain-smoking archaeologist Dr Celia, Scottish Dennis, fast-talking Gary and Zac’s worried wife, often very funny, highly recommended.”
“Sometimes amusing, sometimes sad, the audience experienced the world reflected through Zac with an original and heartfelt story,” said Nichola Coates from Wanstrow Village Hall.
A chance to enjoy a night of real live theatre in a beautiful and unusual setting. Doors open 7.30. Tickets, £15, include canapes and a glass of wine, from The Cheese And Grain 01373 455420, www.cheeseandgrain.com
