ENTRIES are now open for the annual Dilton Marsh Flower and Handicraft Show and people from the local area have been encouraged to get involved with the event on Saturday 9th July.
Entries are open to village residents and non-residents who belong to a village organisation.
Organiser say, “There is a wide variety of classes to attract gardeners, bakers and crafters of all ages and experience levels. Gardening classes include many varieties of seasonal vegetables and fruit, as well as flowers and shrubs.
“In the cookery classes the classic Victoria Sandwich, as well as the popular lockdown recipes banana bread and chocolate brownies, are sure to draw many entries. Children are strongly encouraged to get involved this year with a summer beach colouring picture and crafts aimed specifically at pre-school and Key Stage 1 children.
“There is even a separate photography class aimed at the under 18s, as well as three general photography categories under the themes ‘jubilee’, ‘trees’ and ‘sunrise/sunset’.”
The show will open its doors to the public from 2pm. Prizes will be given at 3pm followed by an auction of any produce and baked goods. The organisers say that non-village residents are welcome to come along and enjoy the event.
