Dilton Marsh families are in for a treat this summer, as a brand-new monthly film club is launching on Friday this week ,15th August, offering a fun and affordable night out for the whole community.
The Dilton Marsh After School Film Club, supported by Dilton Marsh Parish Council, will take place on Friday evenings at Dilton Marsh Memorial Hall, starting at 4pm, with the first session completely free of charge. The club aims to bring people together with a family-friendly film each month -chosen by public vote.
The inaugural screening will be the 2023 hit Wonka, with hot dogs, soft drinks, sweets, popcorn and ice cream on offer. Young film-goers are encouraged to bring blankets, bean bags, or floor cushions to get comfy, and there will be colouring and other activities available to keep children entertained before the movie starts.
Ticket prices for future films will be kept family-friendly: £5 per adult, £2 per child, or £12 for a family of four (two adults and two children).
Organisers say that if the community gets behind the initiative, there are plans to expand the programme to include evening screenings of films for adults in the future.
