CHILDREN from Dilton Marsh Primary School’s Year 3 Willow Class, were invited to the local Polling Station at the Memorial Hall in the village during the election.
The class was tasked with leading a whole school biscuit election to coincide with the local elections and the general election. Vicki Hallam from the school said, “The children were incredibly well behaved as we walked through the village to the Memorial Hall.
“We were kindly invited to go along to the Polling Station to start the project. This was an exciting opportunity for the children to see how a Polling Station works and gather ideas on how to set up our polling station in school on June 8th.
“I would like to extend a big thank you to the three lovely ladies who welcomed us and talked the children through the process of voting. The children were amazed that the same three ladies were on duty from 6.30am until voting closed at 10pm; we agreed when we returned to school, that our Polling Station wouldn’t be open that long!”
