AFTER being closed for more than four months, the trustees of Dilton Memorial Hall are pleased to be able to re-open the hall for the popular annual flower and handicraft show on Saturday 15th August.
The trustees report, “Following Government guidance, the event will be quite different this year with no refreshments nor the usual auction of produce. Entries will be set up and judged in the morning, with doors open to the public at 2pm-4pm. All those coming to view the exhibits will be asked to follow guidelines to help keep everyone as safe as possible.
“Entry forms are available from the telephone box, Crowning Glory and Fairfield Farm College shop and need to be returned by Wednesday 12th August. With everyone spending time gardening and being creative during lockdown, a high standard and number of entries is expected.
“With advice and support from Wiltshire Village Halls Association and ACRE (Action with Communities in Rural England), the hall will re-open as a Covid-19 secure venue, meaning that measures are in place to guard against the spread of the virus.
“Other groups that use the hall regularly will be able to return from 17th August. Some activities are currently still not permitted and larger gatherings are restricted so new bookings are not being taken for the time being. For further information please contact Kathy Hutt on 01373 301656.”
