BRATTON Primary School is getting ready to host their first village Scarecrow Trail that will feature a whole week of creative, outdoors fun for local children, their families and friends, as they locate 37 homemade Disney themed scarecrows dotted around the village.
The Scarecrow Trail is taking place from Saturday 24th June to Sunday 2nd July, and trail maps will be on sale from Thursday 1st June from Bratton Primary School, The Duke Pub and Bratton Village Shop for only £3. Money raised will go towards providing iPads for the pupils of the school.
A school spokesperson said, “Excitement is building with everyone at school, with each class making their very own scarecrow to display, plus an additional 31 other scarecrows designed and created by families and local residents. We can’t wait to witness the amazing creativity on display!
“This is the first time Bratton Primary School have hosted a Scarecrow Trail and following on from other villages who already host these events, we are expecting it to be very successful and attended by people from all the surrounding towns and villages.
“Previous events similar to this have always proven very popular and generate great publicity, and a wonderful way to boost the school’s fundraising goal with hundreds of people attending. We are working very hard behind the scenes to ensure this becomes a well-loved annual event for the whole local community to enjoy. All the money raised at the event will be used to purchase new iPads for the children to use at school.
“We have received some truly wonderful prizes from both local and national companies, from clothing vouchers, outdoor cinema tickets, museum tickets, experience days for the family, sporting activities, vouchers for afternoon teas, online retailers, hampers, electronics, wine and even a tattoo voucher! This really will be a wonderful activity for the whole family to enjoy, with a chance of winning a great prize at the end too!”
