Dilton Marsh’s annual scarecrow trail will return in May after its huge success in 2024.
The event will take place over the Early May Bank Holiday weekend (3rd to 5th May) with a Roald Dahl theme.
Verity Cull, chair of the Friends of Dilton School group, said, “Entries are currently open for scarecrow submissions, which are free of charge. We welcome entries from people outside Dilton Marsh too, and we can place their scarecrows in areas across the trail for them. Entries are coming in thick and fast, and the character ideas and allocations are fantastic.
“We have also teamed up with Dilton Marsh Church, where we will be serving cream teas on 4th May from midday for any of our trailers needing a refreshment break. Maps will be available from several locations across the village ahead of the weekend and on the trail days for just £1 each.”
To enter, send your name, address, telephone number, and Roald Dahl character choice to FODS@diltonmarsh.wilts.sch.uk. There will be a prize for the best scarecrow.
