Frome Memorial Theatre is going ‘under the sea’ next month with the Little Mermaid, and also welcomes legendary rock group, The Drifters, to the stage with Abba Forever and a dose of murder and mayhem to follow in September.

Spellbound’s The Little Mermaid, Thursday 4th August to Saturday 6th August, showing at 2pm and 7pm on all days.

Spellbound is the award-winning youth group of Frome Musical Theatre Company. We are thrilled to be awarded the licence to present to you the full Broadway version of Disney’s Little Mermaid.

Please come and join us ‘Under the Sea’, to meet favourite characters presenting this popular story with lots of famous songs, great dancing and our usual fantastic costumes!

The Drifters, live in concert, Friday 12th August, showing at 7.30pm

The Drifters are back on tour in the UK with a brand-new show performing all their classic hits from the last six decades.

The legendary group have been inducted into the Rock & Roll of fame, performed for the president of the United States and listed among the greatest artists of all time by Rolling Stone magazine.

Don’t miss their brand-new tour performing all the classic hits such as Saturday Night At Movies, You’re More Than A Number, Come on Over to My Place, Up On The Roof, Under the Boardwalk, Kissing In The Back Row, Save The Last Dance For Me, Down On The Beach, Hello Happiness and many, many more!

Crimes On Centre Court, Friday 9th September

22 and Saturday 10th September, showing at 7.30pm

Multi-award-winning New Old Friends are touring another dose of mirth, murder and mayhem, this time with a side of tennis. Lord Knows the chair of The Whombledun International Invitational Tennis Tournament has died and his son, Hugh, is suspicious. The police won’t take the case so Hugh calls in Perry & Penny Pink, private investigators.

What transpires has all the hallmarks of the company’s particular brand of theatrical hilarity: a cast of four performers play countless characters with quick-fire changes and quicker wits.

Crimes on Centre Court, based on a story from New Old Friends’ award-winning podcast (#2 in iTunes fiction chart), is an ace of a show which you’re sure to (fifteen) love. This deucey summertime treat will rally the spirits and leave you wanting a second serve-ing of the volley of gags and visual delights. You won’t see it game set and matched anywhere else!

New Old Friends have built a national reputation with their wildly inventive set-pieces, twisty plots and commitment to unadulterated entertainment.

ABBA Forever – Live in Concert, Saturday 17th September, showing at 7.30pm

Forever ABBA is one of the UK’s leading International tribute shows with the unique Abba sound replicated with an incredible attention to detail by this a seven-piece band featuring electric and acoustic guitars, keyboards and piano, bass, and drums. Two outstanding Abba girls complete the line-up, adding the essential glitz and glamour to a well-polished and gently humorous show.

The wonderful lyrics penned by Benny and Bjorn are sung in wonderful harmony by all performers on stage. Dynamic non-stop choreography, stunning visuals, top class musicianship and an ALL LIVE performance ensures that the Forever ABBA Show captivates audiences from the opening refrain to the final sing-along chorus of this two-hour spectacular.
