AS part of Work Experience Week at Fairfield Farm College, Wayne McKeown, Operations Director for John Wainwright and Co Ltd, who provide work experience opportunities for the students, visited the college in order to help supported interns with their interview skills.
Wayne interviewed three of the supported interns, with a view to assessing not only their current level of skills, but also to gain information about their future aims and aspirations.
Wayne put them through their paces and the interns were more than up to the challenge!
Helen Beer from Fairfield Farm College said, “As a result of this workshop, the interns are far more aware of what to expect in a formal interview and also far more comfortable in respect of presenting themselves to an unfamiliar person in an uncomfortable situation.”
Damian, a student at the college said, “It was easier than I thought it would be and I now feel more confident about other interviews.”
Another student, James said, “It was helpful to know what a job interview would be like.”
Helen added, “Many thanks to Wayne McKeown and John Wainwright and Co Ltd for giving our students this opportunity.”
