Westbury United manager Shaun Gardiner has been busy signing new players ahead of the new season.
Several names will be familiar to locals having played for Westbury United previously – Alex Shaftoe, Tom Drewitt and David Macey – while new faces include Ryan Underwood, Dougie Dickson, Otis Young, Sean Meer and Dan Moore.
“The squad have been training hard, including on some very hot evenings and things are shaping up well,” said Shaun.
United’s pre season kicks off on Wednesday 15th July with a friendly versus Box before three further home friendlies versus Melksham Town, Horndean and Weymouth Reserves.
The previously postponed Presentation Evening will take place after the Melksham match.
League fixtures will not be released until Friday 17th July, but United do know who they will face in the FA Vase Preliminary Round when they will be away to Wiltshire and League rivals Corsham Town on Saturday 5th September. The winner of that tie will travel to Swanage & Herston on Saturday 3rd October.
Reserve Team Coach/ Matchday Secretary: Westbury United Reserves are looking for another coach to add to the team, ideally someone who would be interested in carrying out the matchday secretary duties of the reserve team as well as coaching.
