During the month of June the Warminster U3A (The University of the Third Age) will be at Warminster Library as part of the national Festival of Learning week.
Warminster U3A is a local society formed of 48 interest groups providing informal education and leisure activities for people no longer in full time employment. With groups covering interests such as Archaeology, Country Dancing and Wine Appreciation there really is something for everyone! As one door closes, another door opens!
Members can join up to as many groups as they want and can even start up their own interest groups. Everyone is welcome to join for the chance to enjoy learning for fun and to socialise and make new friends. The U3A also provides the opportunity to go on trips and visits, including an annual holiday and a Christmas lunch.
A monthly general meeting, hosted by a guest speaker, is held at the Civic Centre on the last Wednesday of each month.
“The meetings are an excellent way to meet up with U3A friends, sign up to new groups and find out about upcoming trips and events,” says the club.
There will be a stand of information in the library throughout June for anyone who would like to learn more about joining the Warminster U3A. A member of the group will be available to speak to most mornings throughout the month.
