Corsley Festival Choir are holding their seasonal concert at St. Margaret’s Church, Corsley on Sunday 13th December at 7.30pm.
The choir have been rehearsing for several months to prepare a wonderful festive programme, with Vivaldi’s Gloria in the first half and a selection of popular carols in the second half. Vivaldi’s Gloria is an exciting and exuberant piece of music which is a favourite of many. The carols are partly sung by soloists, partly by the choir and partly the audience.
The concert conductor is Stephen Smith and the Corsley Festive Orchestra will be playing, led by Daphne Moody and with organist Jacquelyn Bevan. Soloists are Charlotte Levesley (soprano) and Emily Grey (mezzo soprano) by kind permission of the principal of the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.
Tickets are available from club members or by phoning 01373 836866.
The choir are very keen to recruit new members for the Spring concert, and all newcomers are very welcome. Rehearsals are on Monday evenings in Corsley Church at 7.45pm, and the next concert is on the 8th May 2016 and will be “A Royal Celebration” in honour of Her Majesty the Queen’s 90th Birthday.
