NEARLY 100 runners dressed in Christmas fancy dress took part in the annual ‘Xmas Fun Run’ at Leighton Sports Centre on Sunday 8th December, organised by Redfish Events.
Now in its fourth year, the Christmas fun run gives experienced and beginner runners the chance to run 3k in a more relaxed and festive occasion, with prizes at the end.
This year, Redfish Events will donate money from entries to Westbury Lions Club, to help fund their Santa float that is making its way around the streets of Westbury this month.
The winners this year were: First male: Peter Veleski; First boy 11-16: Kian Saggers; First boy 10 & under: Rory Osborne; First female and first dog: Anne Slater with her dog Ruby; First girl 10 & under: Evelyn Slater; First girl 11-16: Lottie Wells; Best fancy dress: Emily Smith and a special achievement award went to Barry Hedges.
The runners were joined by special guests, Santa Claus himself and The Coalition of Superheroes. They were also treated to their very own flurry of snow!
