Westbury Youth Amazons got their season off to a flying start by winning their opening fixture 6-1 against Melksham Town on Saturday 12th September.
The girls are sponsored this season by the company STILL and were presented with their new yellow and green kit before the game.
Nick Smith, STILL managing directory said, “We are proud and delighted to support with Westbury Amazons, particularly knowing how much they have worked to come together, practise and perform. Success whether in business or pleasure, can only be achieved through great teams. Westbury Amazons exemplify this ethos of teamwork.”
This is also the first time that the girls have played 11-a-side on a full size pitch.
Andy Jordan, Amazons’ manager said, “It was fantastic to see the girls working for each other today and also putting into practice the things we had been working on during training.
“We now have 43 girls registered across the age ranges, with teams playing at U15, U13 and U12. Girls’ football at Westbury Youth is growing from strength to strength each season and we are always looking for new players from year 5 to year 10.”
