A Westbury folk dance club has celebrated 50 years with a special anniversary evening attended by dancers and friends from across Wiltshire and beyond.
Westbury Folk Dance Club marked the milestone with a celebratory dance led by a well-known caller from Cornwall.
A specially decorated cake was provided by Sue Warder in memory of her parents, Eileen and Clarence Dredge, who were founding members of the club.
The club is now preparing for the start of its next programme on Thursday 10th September and is inviting new members to join.
Club chairman Ann Polden said the group would particularly suit those who are retired or empty-nesters.
Folk dancing is based on traditional country dancing and no previous experience or partner is needed.
The club says dancing provides gentle exercise to support mental and physical fitness, as well as an opportunity to meet new people.
The club meets on Thursday evenings from 7.30pm to 9.30pm during term time at Westbury Leigh Church Hall.
