A SCHOOL cook who has served children at Dilton Marsh for almost 30 years has announced her retirement.
Anthea Blewett started cooking for the school in the ‘80s and served her last meal for the children after three decades. Her final celebration assembly took place on March 25th and many pupils and former pupils came to say farewell.
Ali Hyde says, “It is unusual in today’s world to remain in the same occupation for so long.
“In our last Ofsted inspection the inspectors were very impressed with her novelty cake. Whilst they were here, they commented on the enormous contribution made by the whole school (including the kitchen), to the outstanding provision in all aspects of school life.
“We wish Anthea the very best of health and contentment in her retirement. Happy Retirement Anthea!”
Anthea plans to spend the start of her retirement working on her garden.
