In the late afternoon of Christmas Eve the Westbury Community Project (WCP) was bustling with members of the Westbury Area Network team, together with volunteers packing boxes and bags of food donated by local supermarkets, for those in need within our town.
Over 60 turkeys flew out the door accompanied with bags of fruit, vegetables bread and cake. Some food boxes were collected some delivered all to ensure that no one went without.
“Our most grateful thanks have to go to Ian and wonderful team of volunteers who, each week, pack food boxes and ensure the community fridge, all based at the WCP and open for all, are filled with food,” says the group. “Also thanks to the local supermarkets which donate the food which would otherwise have gone to landfill, and the volunteers who gave up their Christmas Eve afternoon, you know who you are.
“Thank you all from the Westbury Areat Network tema and all those who benefited from the gifts.”
