PASTOR Andrew Jones of Yarnbrook Chapel has expressed his gratitude for the gift of a pulpit which has now taken up residence in the church.
In a recent issue of the White Horse News, Imperial Charity in Westbury put out an appeal for the wooden pulpit to go to a good home after it was donated by a local church that had to close – and they an immediate response.
“Talk about the power of the Press!” said Bob Summerfield from the charity. “No sooner did the White Horse News hit the streets, than I was inundated with calls for the pulpit. It actually went to the first caller which was Yarnbrook Chapel which I was really pleased about.”
Andrew Jones from Yarnbrook Chapel said, “We have a fixed pulpit at Yarnbrook that is part of the original building of 1874. The new pulpit is great because we can move it around the chapel to whatever setting we need. We are very thankful for this kind gift and wish to pass our thanks to the givers.”
