Pupils, parents and staff came out in force to support Westbury Leigh Church of England Primary School on Friday 3rd July for their annual FOWLS Summer Barbecue.
FOWLS, (Friends of Westbury Leigh School) have been fund raising all year to be able to purchase new outdoor play equipment.
All the fundraising efforts culminated with everyone coming together to have fun and celebrate a year of hard work.
As well as food provided by teachers and parents, there were stalls, bouncy castles, entertainment from local young dancers and even an opportunity to soak a teacher!
Chair of FOWLS, Deborah Howells said, “It was a wonderful evening with a great atmosphere and it was so lovely to see everyone having fun together.
“Cllr David Bradshaw kindly joined us and opened the barbecue in style.
“We raised a phenomenal £2251 on the night and that brings us much closer to being able to fund the children’s new play equipment.
“On behalf of the FOWLS team I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported us.”
