The annual Westbury Model Railway Show will return to town on Saturday 2nd November, featuring a variety of layouts, trade stands and activities for visitors of all ages.
The show, organised by the West Wiltshire Gauge 0 Group, will take place at the Paragon Hall, next to the High Street car park, from 10am to 4pm.
This year’s event will showcase a range of model railway layouts, including the ever-popular 0 Gauge Test Track by Keith Wareham, where visitors can enjoy watching both steam and diesel-hauled trains. New layouts making their debut include Bunbury West, Dairymaid Lane, and Wadesley.
John Cruse will present his Bradbury Junction layout in 00 Gauge, while John Anderson and Paul Taylor will showcase their Portishead layout, which also features 009 stock. The H0 Gauge will be represented by Bremen Tramways, and Smallbuns Castle will be the key attraction in N Gauge.
Additionally, Ashley Jones will bring his Scalextric Slot Car Circuit, giving younger visitors the opportunity to interact with the layout.
There will be a bring-and-buy stall to pass on unwanted items and pick up bargains just in time for Christmas.
“Best of all are the refreshments for you to enjoy,” said group organiser Rod Towler. “Get yourself a cup of tea and a piece of the delightful cakes on offer and sit and watch the trains go by. Come, have fun and enjoy our show.”
Entry prices are £6 for adults, £5 for concessions and Gauge 0 Guild members, £2 for children, and £12 for family tickets (2 + 2).
The adjacent car park currently offers 1 hour of free parking with a displayed ticket. There are disabled facilities available, and a ramp leads from the car park to the hall, with a small 50mm step into the entrance.
