BRATTON village fete was hailed a success this month when the sun shone for a day of traditional entertainment and activities on the village green.
Organiser Val Witcomb reports, “The weather was kind and it was a beautiful sunny afternoon for the traditional village fete held on Saturday 16th July.
“Entertainment in the traditional vein was provided by Bratton Silver Band, including the teaching section. Pupils from Bratton School performed country dancing and Bathampton Morris Men even had spectators joining in.
“The fun fair was provided by Jennings Fun Fair. West Wilts Society of Model Engineers, based at White Horse Country Park, provided rides for both young and old.
“Many local groups provided stalls including the usual tombola, bottle stall, bowling for the pig (not a live one) book stall, and arts and crafts. The Baptist Chapel provided tasty tea and cakes in the pavilion.
“The fete was organised by the Bratton Jubilee Hall Committee, which would like to thank everybody who supported this event by either helping, running a stall, providing entertainment or just coming to enjoy the event and the good weather.”
