A FUNDRAISING evening, in aid of local man Jim Penny, is to be held at Fullingbridge Farm Barn, just outside Westbury, on Friday 10th May from 7pm.
Jim has been diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer, which has spread to his left pelvis, back of his liver, spine, chest cavity and lymphnodes. In the next few weeks he will begin an intensive round of chemotherapy. In wake of the news, friends and family are hoping to raise enough money for him to receive more targeted treatment.
Entry is £5 per person, with children free and all proceeds donated to Jim’s cause. There will be a disco with Shaun Smitherman and lots of prizes up for auction and many more for a raffle. There will be a bar open and a barbecue available.
Some of the auction prizes include signed sporting shirts from footballers Wayne Rooney and Steve Gerrard; a signed Bristol City shirt, goalie gloves and boots donated by player Jake Andrews; garden decking (10ft by 10ft) donated by Timber & Allied; pamper vouchers; garden maintenance, meals out and more!
Organisers Alison Little, Leanne Dolbear and Lisa Green say, “A massive thank you to the Westbury community and businesses for the amazing auction prizes that have been donated. Jim has said that he is completely overwhelmed by the generosity that has been shown. Jim and his family would also like to thank everyone and look forward to seeing you all on the night.”
If you would like to donate a prize for the auction or raffle speak to Leanne at Dollies and Bears hair salon in Westbury or Alison at Elizabeth Snell & Family. They both also have raffle tickets to buy in advance or you can buy them on the night.
