OVER 150 runners took part in this year’s Dilton Dash – a run through the beautiful Dilton Marsh countryside. 104 people ran the 10k route and 66 people ran the 3k route last Sunday in a race hosted by Redfish Events.
The 10k route was won by Tommy Davies from Avon Valley Runners, running it in 41:47 – he also won first local Dilton Marsh male. He was followed by John Reed from Warminster in a time of 42:24 and in third place was Nathan Jackson from Warminster Running Club in 45:34.
The first female to finish the 10k was Sarah Wilson from Trowbridge with a time of 45:55, followed by Justina Burles from Warminster Running Club in 50:02 and Veryan Cranston from Avon Valley Runners in 50:14. Sarah Hunt was awarded the first Dilton Marsh female finisher with a time of 1:01:59.
The 3k route was won by Ross Wayne from Swanage with a time of 15:26, followed by Olivia Kearns from City of Salisbury AC & RC who was awarded first girl aged 11-16 in 16:56 and George Sawyer from Avon Valley Runners in 17:41 who was awarded the first boy aged 11-16.
Austin Look from Dilton Marsh was the first boy aged 10 and under to finish with a time of 18:27 and Imogen Smart from Trowbridge was the first girl aged 10 and under to finish with a time of 20:07. Amy Eldred from Holt was the first female to finish with a time of 20:58 and Virginia Garner-richardson from Trowbridge was the first runner to finish with a dog with a time of 22:29.
Redfish Events is an events business founded by Adam Firks and Tracey Hyde who put on running events to raise money for local charities and projects. Their next event is the 11k Bratton Hilly Run on Saturday 28th May.
