WESTBURY Youth Club is holding a fundraising event on Saturday 14th April to help raise funds for the day-to-day running of the youth club, as well as funding activities, parties and day trips.
Beth Mullins-Watts, volunteer at the youth club said, “When we were discussing our relaunch last September, we realised that there are no other youth clubs in Westbury and not a lot for young people to do in the area.
“We went in to this with the vision to offer the young people as much as we can. Since our relaunch we have had a Halloween party, Christmas party and have run a session every Wednesday during term time, with different activities each week.
“Coming up, we have an Easter egg hunt, a summer party, a trip to Funways and a pool party at Westbury Swimming Pool. These all come at a cost and we only ask for a £1 fee each session from the children and a maximum of £5 for the day trips. This doesn’t cover the whole cost of what we do as we also have to pay for hall hire.
“We want to do more for the club and its members and be able to keep providing the activities, parties and day trips that we can.”
The fundraiser will be held on Saturday 14th April at The Railway Inn at 7.30pm and will see a pub quiz at £1 per person with a prize of £20, a raffle, disco and an auction. There are a variety of prizes on offer for auction including signed framed images, activity vouchers, beauty treatments, tickets to shows, family swimming passes and much more.
“We are still welcoming donations for either the raffle or auction,” Beth continued. “If anyone would like to donate, they can email me on westburyyouth club@gmail.com or come in and see us one Wednesday evening at Leigh Park Community Centre.
“Tickets are £5 for the auction and are on sale now either from The Railway Inn or from Westbury Youth Club.”
