MAKE a difference and raise cash for charity, simply by drinking coffee and eating cake this Friday!

Macmillan Cancer Support is hosting its ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ with fundraisers around the country serving up coffee and tea and cake, all in aid of the charity.

From 10am on Friday 26th September, join Providence Chapel Hall, Tower Hill, Dilton Marsh (BA13 3SP) who will be hosting its own Big Coffee Morning until 12noon. Everyone welcome.

Leigh Park Community Centre in Leigh Park Way will have hot and cold drinks, cakes, a raffle and stalls 12noon until 2pm. Tel 01373 825774.

The Co-op food store in Westbury will be holding a coffee morning with cakes made by the staff  and a raffle for a hamper plus more from 9am onwards.

C. S. Bowyer Funeral Directors will be hosting an event in their Westbury branch at 23 Maristow Street between 10am and 2pm. Cake will be included!  A spokesperson said, “We will be supporting this fantastic event locally and opening our branches to anyone who would like to join us for coffee.” For further information please contact Samantha Wilson on 01373 864833

All Instruments will be holding their event from 10am-12pm and 3pm-5pm. There will be a wide variety of teas and coffees, cakes and biscuits. Everyone is welcome and they will have mini games for all the family to join in.

Jessica Dayman-Johns from All Instruments said, “We will also be offering big discounts on the day so that anyone that comes along can grab themselves a bargain while they’re here!

“We want to try and help in raising awareness and money for the great people at Macmillan who are helping more and more families every day that are affected by cancer. It is a very worthy cause and even in a small town like Westbury, more and more people are affected by the disease every day.”

For more information or if you’d like to inquire about offering a helping hand/baking goods give us a call on 01373 859044 or send us an email to jessi ca@allinstruments.com

Meanwhile, on Saturday 11th October at Heywood & Hawkeridge Village Hall there will be a ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ event from 11am until 1pm. This will include a large selection of homemade cakes and also cakes donated from local supermarkets, hot/cold drinks.

Sarah Dearden said, “We will also have a raffle which local companies have donated some fantastic prizes, from meal vouchers, family days out, beauty treatments etc.

“There will also be a few stalls to pick up some great gifts and at 12noon Peppa Pig will visit and be available for photos with all the children. I am also incorporating Slimming World Cakes, as a slimming world member who has lost about 2 stone and voted Women of the Year 2014 in my group, I felt it would be nice for our local members to be able to enjoy something like a coffee morning without the guilt.

“My Slimming World consultant, Hannah Beeson, has been very supportive and we have had lots of members volunteering to make Slimming World friendly cakes for my event; it’s a coffee morning with a difference! It’s such a worthy cause and special to me personally as I lost my best friend and uncle to cancer.”

If you would like to donate a cake or raffle prize please contact Sarah on 07787 407229
