A community garden project is set to launch at Leigh Park Community Centre, with plans to turn a patch of land into a thriving allotment.
An area of land will be transformed into a space where people of all ages and abilities will be able to connect. Fruit, vegetables and flowers will all be grown. Volunteers from the centre are inviting local residents to get involved in the project.
A spokesperson said, “Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just curious about getting your hands in the soil, there’s a place for you here! We’re looking for helping hands, creative minds, and anyone who wants to be involved in a greener, more connected community.”
The first meeting for anyone interested in getting involved will take place on Friday 5th September at 11.30am at the centre, on Leigh Park Way.
