AN augural pet service has been held at the Holy Trinity Church.
A spokesperson for the church said, “The inaugural Pet Service, at Holy Trinity Church, held on 29th August in the churchyard, was very well attended and thoroughly enjoyed by all! The pets even joined in with the songs for full participation!
“The pets included dogs, rescue Rhode Island red chicken and a cute tortoise. Also, some of the children cradled their stuffed pets.
“Poppy Likeman, the cat, sent her apologies and sent her understudy who sat ‘stone’ still throughout the service!
“During the service Revd Caroline guided all pet owners through an act of blessing their pets and then she circulated among them with treats – for the animals!”
