Do you want to get out in the fresh air? Stretch your legs after weeks in lock down? Then Dogs for Health’s Walk and Talk sessions could be just what you need.
Dogs for Health, which started at the end of 2019, run regular Walk and Talk sessions in Westbury, Warminster and Frome. The location and distance of the walks varies according to the group’s ability.
Organisers say, “The walks give you the opportunity to meet with new people, enjoy the local countryside, spend some time with our therapy dogs and volunteers and finish with refreshments.
“Dogs for Health volunteers and dogs can also visit people in their own homes who are isolated from their local community. We can support people with getting out of the house, helping them to re engage with the community. This may be through visiting local cafes, attending a Walk and Talk or simply sitting and spending some time with the dog and volunteer.
“Dogs for health has over 20 volunteers and their dogs, all different breeds – cockapo, spaniels, german shepards, dauchounds, labradors etc.
“If you are interested in volunteering with us, would like a visit from a dog or would like to join a Walk and Talk session please call Amy on 07712 545427 or email dogsforhealth@yahoo.com.
