Students from Matravers School will be performing “Singin’ in the Rain” on Tuesday 10th, Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th February.
The students will follow in the footsteps of Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds, and have been working tirelessly to ensure that their audiences will leave wanting more!
‘Singin’ in the Rain’ tells the story of the first Hollywood musical, when the silver screen found its voice and left silent movies – and some of its stars – behind. A much-loved, family favourite musical, ‘Singin’ in the Rain’ is packed with enough charm, romance, comedy and glamour to shower its audience and leave them wanting more!
The Matravers School production features all the songs from the glorious MGM score including ‘Good Morning’, ‘Make ‘em Laugh’, ‘Moses Supposes’ and the classic ‘Singin’ in the Rain’. The show promises to be fun for all of the family.
The performance will be taking place at Matravers School at 7.00pm on Tuesday 10th, Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th February. Audiences can purchase their tickets from the school reception; these will cost £8 for adults and £6 for children and concessions. Tickets will also be available on the door but are likely to sell out in advance of the performance, so get them quick!
Dr Riding, headteacher at Matravers School said, “I am delighted with the commitment shown by hundreds of students and staff involved in the production this year, both on stage and also backstage. During rehearsal this has promised to be a phenomenal show with our full range of performing talent evident.”
