A weight-loss consultant who support hundreds of people in Westbury to lose weight has been recognised for the exceptional work she does to support people in the area.
Juliet Morgan was invited to a national event for Slimming World’s most successful consultants – ‘Slimming World’s Gold and Pearl Day 2018’ – hosted at Slimming World’s national head office by the company’s senior directors. The Derbyshire event was exclusive to just 100 of the organisation’s high-flying consultants, to celebrate the outstanding service they consistently provide to their members, supporting them to eat more healthily, get more active and build confidence – and ultimately achieve their weight-loss dreams.
Juliet has lost 4 stone herself and has been running groups in the area for 19 years. The invite puts her in the top two per cent of the organisation’s 5,000 Slimming World Consultants across the UK.
Juliet, a consultant for the the Leigh Park Community Centre group says, “To receive an invite to such a prestigious event felt very special, it’s so lovely to be recognised among the highest-achieving consultants across the country and to know that together our work in Westbury is making a real impact. I’ve received the award three times and it’s so nice to have my hard work recognised.
“Helping people from Westbury to achieve their dreams makes this the best job in the world and to be recognised nationally for doing something I absolutely love feels fantastic. As self-employed franchisees we are always treated so well by the company, and to be invited to an event like Gold and Pearl Day was amazing – it really was the VIP treatment!”
All Slimming World consultants receive in-depth training from the Slimming World Academy, to help give their members the support they need to make long-term changes to improve their health and wellbeing, as well as passing their new habits on to their family. Training includes the role of diet and activity in weight management. Crucially, it also includes training in how to help members to lift the guilt and shame they may feel as a result of struggling with their weight and help them to form healthy lifestyle habits.
Juliet said, “I headed home at the end of the day brimming with ideas for helping our members, and can’t wait to use what I’ve learnt to take the support I give in group to the next level. We all know what it’s like to struggle with weight and we also know that with the right kind of support you can really make long-term healthy changes to lose weight and keep it off for good.”
