Westbury Leigh Church of England Primary School celebrated its Harvest Festival at the Westbury Leigh Holy Saviour’s Church on Monday 5th October.
The Harvest Festival took on the theme of ‘Gods bounty around us’ and each class contributed in a range of ways from pictures of tractors and tomatoes to reflections on local food banks and countries further away where famine, drought and conflict can impact on their harvest.
The children sang a range of beautiful songs including ‘Drop in the ocean’ and ‘Harvest of the world’, both of which led to resounding applause from the audience.
Throughout the service, harvest quotes from the Bible helped link themes, and children shared prayers they had composed in reflecting on our gratefulness for a good harvest in Westbury this year.
Children at the school raised money for the church service as well as donating a wealth of tins and packaged food to the Warminster food bank.
The school is extremely grateful to the generous donations from families at this time of year.
