Alzheimer’s Support is asking everyone to host fundraising tea parties, or ‘Communi-TEAS’, for people living with dementia in Wiltshire.
The charity’s community fundraiser, Laura Crouch, “We’d like as many people as possible to get involved this summer. It could be a garden party for family and friends, a neighbours or village get-together, or a bake-off or cake sale at work. The possibili-TEAS are endless!
“We have all been so distant for so long so this is a chance to safely meet up while making a difference for people affected by dementia in their local community.
“We can supply invitations and collecting boxes and lots of advice so it’s easy to organise. We can even provide recipes, if needed. It should be a fun way to come together safely and for a good cause.”
Wiltshire-based Alzheimer’s Support kept some services running throughout the pandemic and has seen demand for its Home Support and dementia adviser service soar in recent months. It supports around 2,500 people affected by dementia in Wiltshire and needs to raise £300,000 every year to keep its award-winning services running.
More than a dozen CommuniTEAS are being organised so far in Wiltshire, but there is room for many more! To find out more and request your CommuniTEAS pack, go to: www.alzheimerswiltshire.org.uk/communi-tea
