WESTBURY’S own Imperial Charity will be setting off on its latest coach trip next month, with a day out to Bourton-on-the-Water.
Regularly voted one of the prettiest villages in England, Bourton-on-the-Water has a unique appeal to visitors and residents alike with plenty to see and do with a wealth of attractions and shops, restaurants and tea rooms, or simply for you to enjoy some tranquil time by the River Windrush with its beautiful bridges throughout, which runs through the centre of the town.
Amongst the attractions are Birdland – a beautiful park and gardens containing over 500 birds; The Model Village – a one-ninth scale replica in local stone of Bourton-on-the-Water; The Cotswolds Perfumery shop & factory which has made personalised scents for the Queen herself; a Model Railway Exhibition – on the High Street with some of the finest operating indoor model railway layouts in the country, covering over 500 feet of track; and Cotswold Motoring Museum & Toy Collection – overflowing with vintage car collections, classic cars and motorcycles, caravans, original enamel signs and an intriguing collection of motoring curiosities also home to Brum, the adventurous four-wheeled hero of children’s TV.
Perhaps the village’s most prized feature is its tranquil river, The Windrush, which meanders through the village under several arched stone bridges and past the village green.
A donation of £5 per ticket for the trip will be asked for, with the exception of people with special needs and their carers who will travel free.
To find out more or book your ticket visit the shops on Warminster Road or High Street or call 01373 826826.

Bob Summerfield, the charity manager said, “This year’s destinations have been chosen as a result of a survey of passengers last year, who were asked to nominate their favourite places they would like to go to.
“We are staying with the company Real Coaches who provided such admirable service last year and who have agreed to provide a minimum of two coaches per trip, with the option of a third one should numbers demand it.”
