WESTBURY’S own Imperial Charity will be setting off on its latest coach trip next month, with a day out to Sidmouth.
Ideal for visitors of all ages, Sidmouth is a beautiful seaside town on the Jurassic Coast of Devon. Sat in the middle of spectacular countryside, it is home to beautiful beaches, stylish eating places and great shopping.
A town steeped in history you can learn more about Sidmouth’s famous residents and the development of the town from fishing village through Regency and Victorian times at the Sidmouth Museum. The museum also exhibits fossils from the Jurassic Coast and reptile footprints found in Sidmouth.
Described as a beautiful expanse of sand and shingle beach, Sidmouth town beach is perfect to spend the day on for the whole family. There is a good level of disabled access and facilities onto the beach, with local cafes and restaurants nearby.
At the western end of the town’s beach is Jacob’s Ladder, which is a series of wooden steps leading from the beach up to the Connaught Gardens, which provides beautiful views of the coastline.
The coach departs for Sidmouth on Wednesday 14th June. A donation of £5 per ticket for the trip will be asked for, with the exception of people with special needs who will travel free.
