TALKS are being held by the Post Office with a company who has shown an interest in bringing back a main post office outlet in Westbury, following a closure of over a year.
The town’s main post office, housed within Co-op supermarket, was closed last October. Since then, the Post Office says there has been little interest, but has now written to Westbury Town Council saying, “We can confirm that a member of the field team has personally visited the area and have had some interest locally.
“We are currently in discussions with a potential new operator about this opportunity, however, our negotiations are at an early stage so we are unable to provide further information.”
A Post Office spokesperson told White Horse News, “We are working hard to restore a Post Office service to Westbury as soon as possible. Any relocation would be subject to public consultation. We understand and appreciate how much communities rely on our services and we apologise for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure. In the meantime, alternative branches include Bratton, The Ham and Dilton Marsh.”
