A MUM from Dilton Marsh has gone head to head against TV’s scariest presenter on The Weakest Link.
Amy Duckett came face-to-face with Anne Robinson when she filmed the hit BBC show on Monday 8th March.
Amy said, “No-one wanted to be the first one out! Anne didn’t seem that bad though.
“We didn’t meet her until we started filming because I think they wanted to keep that persona of hers.
“There’s so much hype about her being scary but she wasn’t that bad. She did tell some people off though when we had to do a retake and really embarrassed them.”
Amy decided to apply to appear on the general knowledge quiz because she wanted to challenge herself, even though she says she’s not particularly strong on general knowledge.
Amy, who helps run an internet business selling beekeeping equipment and is also a full time mum to her 14-month-old daughter, said she wasn’t nervous because she had been on TV before.
She said, “I’ve been on Goldenballs before so it was kind of the same set up, but this time we spent the whole day with the contestants, so we got to know each other. They were really nice, so I felt a bit bad when I had to vote for someone.”
When Amy’s turn came to be grilled by Anne, she thought she got the better of the famously sarcastic host.
“She was saying something about it being easier to put the beekeeping suits on the bees rather than people. I don’t think she knew much about it, it was a bit silly really.”
Amy can’t reveal how well she did on the show until it is aired, sometime within the next six months, but she’s keen to see the final programme.
“They’re going to give me a call and give me two weeks’ notice of when it’ll be on,” she said. “I can’t wait to see how it all pans out. It’s hard to remember what questions I got asked as well because your mind goes blank. My friends and family all really want to see it as well.”
